Football Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions
The Gunners' 10-game winning run was ended by Sunderland before the international break, however can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of guests.
In week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.
Murs' latest record, the new release, is available on the weekend.
Football and Parenting Life
Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of several charity football games over time - but he is not planning a professional return as a player.
"{I recently played in a benefit game the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!
"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."
Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.
"I won't force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday football team," he added.
"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a while too.
"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our team for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this fixture will be fairly tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only home losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.
It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
The singer's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple matches - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look strong again.
West Ham's sole on the road win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno was previously Forest manager.
So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side responding?
I am going to go with the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
Olly's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2
AI's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the season began, but they have impressed a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four games.
A family member told me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.
Thiago will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had much fortune on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are always decent at their stadium. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a threat.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1
Olly's view: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a many scores but it actually turns out to be rather tight. 1-1
The computer's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.
Fulham have have lots of quality in their team but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.
Regarding Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.
The away side's display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.
The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the close of last month.
But I am not do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.
Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be absolutely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
The guest's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a poor streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough fixture to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
