Performer Rejects Anti-Vax Stance Following Voicing Disputed Covid Documentary

Liam Neeson has provided his voice to a recent film that challenges the efficacy of vaccines and praises one-time health official Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The Feature's Provocative Origins

Titled "Plague of Corruption," the project is adapted from a bestselling book written by a disgraced researcher, who gained notoriety during the global outbreak for assertions that the virus was a result of a problematic version of the flu vaccine.

Her writing partner, Kent Heckenlively, has previously authored books with conspiracy-prone figure Alex Jones. The producer wrote online celebrating Neeson's involvement in the project.

A Firm Statement

The team of Neeson have issued a statement pushing back against suggestions that he holds anti-vax beliefs.

"We all recognize that misconduct might be present within the medical sector, but that should never be confused with being against vaccines," the comment reads. "Liam has never been, and remains not, anti-vaccination. His extensive work with the global charity reinforces his enduring support for global immunisation initiatives."

It noted that the actor did not shape the project's narrative and that questions about its claims should be directed to the producers.

Key Claims In the Feature

In the film, the narration read by Neeson makes several strong statements:

  • It suggests that pro-immunization voices have demanded "blind obedience" to public institutions.
  • It argues that "medical science has become highly politicised."
  • Robert F Kennedy Jr is featured claiming, "The big problem with vaccines is that they simply are not safely tested."
  • The narration takes aim at Covid lockdowns, claiming they caused severe distress that cost thousands of lives.
  • On the topic of Covid vaccines, it cites a view that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "risky trials."

Previous Controversy and Current Issues

The film includes a past television report about HIV drug testing on children, which was afterwards the topic of a BBC apology by the broadcaster for violations of guidelines.

Last month, Kennedy instructed the Centers for Disease Control to revise its longstanding position that there is no causal relationship between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This assertion is also referenced in the documentary, contrary to a new report from the World Health Organisation reiterating no connection has been found.

A Previous Statement of Advocacy

Contrasting the documentary's message, Neeson has formerly shown firm endorsement for vaccines in his position as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

In 2022, he referred to vaccines as "a remarkable human success story," stating that "The debate about vaccines in the past few years has lost sight of how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in human history."

The documentary concludes with Neeson's narration proclaiming, "This marks not the end of our story. This is the start of a new chapter."
