The Streaming Giant Casts Perfect Performer for Bentham in One Piece Season 3

Baroque Works is geared up to play a huge role in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, though the major clash won’t unfold until the third season, and a cherished, fan-favorite member has now been chosen.

The platform declared Tuesday that the talented performer has joined the One Piece cast for the third season and will embody Bon Clay. The role can use their power to morph into an exact copy of any individual they’ve laid a hand on with their dominant hand. The actor, who is gender non-conforming and prefers they/them pronouns, will portray a rendition of that figure reinterpreted as non-binary identifying, rather than as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, differing from the original manga and cartoon version.

This performer will work alongside multiple fresh additions set to bring the group to reality, such as head the main antagonist, played by the seasoned performer, a talented actress as Miss Goldenweek, and a familiar face, who will appear as the lineup as King Nefertari Cobra of the desert kingdom.

Though the role is a key figure of Baroque Works, the persona won’t appear until One Piece season 3. Given season 2 set to cover the Little Garden storyline, this signals a notable change in the timing of their first appearance, one that could indicate additional alterations to the story’s structure.

Escola’s blend of sharp comedic timing and deep sensitivity makes them a perfect fit for the role. In addition to their current animated role in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and several accolades for writing and starring in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, emphasizing the range they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s highly regarded characters.

Netflix's live-action One Piece show is set to return for its season two on March 10, 2026.
